Three Very Important Places You Are Forgetting to Exfoliate

Exfoliation and I have a love hate relationship. I love it because of the results, and with time it can really transform your skin. Hate it because it can often be messy, depending on what you use, and time consuming. Have you ever done a full body scrub? Get on it sis, your skin will thank you.

And all exfoliators are not created equal. First you have chemical exfoliation, these are your peels and acids that lift the dead skin off your body without friction. Then you have physical exfoliators, that’s more of your scrubs and loofahs which are body great for body.  Speaking of body, exfoliation is not just for your face. I can think of three places on your body that are the most overlooked when it comes to exfoliation.

Underarms

Think about all that our poor underarms go thru. We shave/wax them consistently. They sweat often. Give them some attention. And if you have discolored underarms this will help as well. I like to use a mild physical exfoliator on my pits usually after I shave. A scrub usually does the trick for me. Just make sure it isn’t too rough.

Bikini Line

It seems like we only think of our bikini line once it’s time to get in a bathing suit, and by then it’s too late. With skincare, nothing is overnight, and consistency is key. Whether you wax, shave, or don’t remove hair at all, you need to be exfoliating the bikini line. I personally would stay away from scrubs in this area. We don’t want those kinda problems. European Wax Center makes a exfoliating pad that has worked wonders for me.

Back

Yes, your back needs exfoliating. And I don’t want to hear anything about “I can’t reach its.” If there’s a will there’s a way. This step is important especially if you suffer from back acne. For this I like to use a exfoliating wash cloth. They make them long enough where all you have to do is wrap them around your back and pull from side to side.
