Prince's Estate Wants Nothing To Do With Donald Trump
The late legend Prince’s estate is not happy about Donald Trump’s use of the 1984 classic hit, “Purple Rain”.
On Thursday , the Trump campaign played the song in Minneapolis . Instantly , the action received criticism from the pop icon’s estate, which claimed that Trump and his team agreed to never play his music .
“President Trump played Prince’s ‘Purple Rain; tonight at a campaign event in Minneapolis despite confirming a year ago that the campaign would not use Prince’s music,” read the statement .
Prince’s estate adds to the list of other musicians who also don’t condone Trump to use their music.
An example of this, is Rihanna finding out and putting a stop to Trump’s use of her song “Don’t Stop the Music”, which was brought to light by the The Washington Post‘s Philip Rucker at a Trump Chattanooga, Tennessee rally.
Rih’s team sent Trump a cease-and-desist, not to long after ( she played no games !). Other high profile artists such as Adele, Pharrell Williams, and Earth, Wind & Fire, have also expressed that they don’t want their music used for Trump’s endeavors .
