Why Amber Guyger Deserves ZERO Free Hugs...
Botham Jean, a young black male, is eating ice cream on his couch in his living room. An intruder comes and shots are fired, Botham is now dead. The shooter, former cop Amber Guyger goes to trial and admits to the cause of murder was due to her thought of being in her apartment and Botham was the intruder. As the penalty for the crime committed was confirmed the last words of Botham's brother, Brandt Jean spoke of forgiveness in his heart for Guyger, and if that wasn't enough he gets up and hugs her. Actual physical contact with the person who murdered his brother. There are so many questions and concerns about this whole operation, but one thing I know for certain…. I couldn't hug Amber Guyger.
On the contrary, I would not be able to be in the same vicinity as Ms. Guyger. I would have to be on skype. Kudos to him for being able to hear the cause of the shooting. That within itself is mind-boggling. This isn't like she had a similar pair of aviator sunglasses, or she grabbed the wrong keys off the desk. THIS WAS A WHOLE APARTMENT. How many of us would mistake our entire home?! I would have known the minute I walked in, that this isn't my casa, my house smells a certain way. It has that “ homey” smell; everyone knows their scents. In addition to that, are we not locking doors now? And also, how did she get her gun out so fast, or was it not on safety before coming in? How dark was the room to the point you didn't notice this wasn't your decor? I am so sorry, I did warn you of my many questions and concerns. The only thing I can most definitely confirm, would be my loathe, and energy of despise that would be oozing out of me towards Guyger. It makes my blood boil just hearing the reason for her retaliation. Wrong apartment? Really!? ( woosa) I want to end this by giving my condolences to the Jean family. I hope that hug Brandt exchanged with Guyger was the necessary step to start healing from this tragedy.
