LAFW: Bedlam H.O.C Brings Chaos To The Runway

One of the more interactive runway shows to watch, and will leave you fascinated and astounded -- Bedlam Hoc. This show was yet another presentation form of a runway that displayed various men and women street style looks that were unconventional and an art experiment.

The show began with models walking down the runway and proceeded with their position on each end. Each piece was paired meticulously with another to finish off each look. Accessories like face masks and neon pink goggles with “Bedlam Hoc” written on it emanated the brand’s style perfectly. One model strutted down the runway wearing a patent leather track suit. It had head-to-toe edgy and daring written all over it. As the show went on, more models made their way down the runway and colorways included neon pink and yellow to contrast the black and white looks. It seemed as though each pair of looks complimented one another and told a story. Everyone in the audience seemed intrigued as to what the essence of the brand was.

Suddenly, the music slowed down and the lights got a tad bit brighter and out from the audience, a man in all denim with a bandana mask and beanie gets up and walks towards the models. No movement and no facial expressions from the models. He walks up slowly to the model in the center, wearing a white tulle dress, paired off with a black hoodie. She seems indifferent and nonchalant as if nothing is happening. The audience all start holding up their phones snapping and recording the scene that was happening. Abruptly, the man pulls his hand up and shapes it into a form of a gun. Bang, he pulls the trigger and one by one, each model makes his and her way back to the stage. All but the model “who was shot”.

Unanticipated, the audience was shocked to see the blood dripping down the model’s white tulle dress.

And just like that, the show was over. The show not only captured streetwear but also told a story in which fashion is being repositioned within a specific culture of the brand. Bedlam Hoc has created its own language and has made its mark.
