Add Kanye Breakdown to the List of 2020, This Season Keeps on Giving

24 tweets and nine minutes of raw unfiltered thoughts were shared by the legendary rapper turned political advocate Kanye West last night. The hashtag #PrayforYe began to trend, but the real hashtag should say Pray for the world that created Ye. 

Through a series of events, Kanye has been diagnosed with a bi-polar disorder. It’s been confirmed whenever he opens his mouth to speak about anything. Nothing is rehearsed or filtered and his emotional stance waivers. There is a candid glimpse of the human mind under pressure and scrutiny. 

Ye is no stranger to the state of prayer, he’s rooted in Christianity with songs from his past like  “Jesus Walks,” (2005) Kanye’s recent awakening to a spiritual lifestyle was no surprise to fans who followed his career, and neither were the posts from last night. 

Recent tweets that are now scrubbed, referenced the movie “Get Out,” a film that stands for the horrors of being Black in America in a metaphorical and figurative sense. Mr. West talked about his wife, Kim and her mother Kris which he said tried to “Lock him up.” 

No one can handle Kanye’s reality, not even Kanye. Ye spoke of his fear of the Adult entertainment emblem Playboy being a factor in his children’s life. Seeing how Kim’s Career was launched based off the marketable spin Kris put on her daughter’s Sex Tape; Kanye shows struggles of dealing with Kim’s sexual persona. He doesn’t like the fact his wife is a sex symbol, which at one point was his main attraction to her, expressed in the music video “Bound 2” (2013) where Kim is topless, bouncing on a motorcycle. 

His mother passed away in the climb of his career and that would turn anyone’s life upside-down. What played out last night was ventilation, with a thick layer added of the year 2020, there is room for malfunction. He is not the only celeb that has shown cases of their demons getting the best of them. Dave Chappelle is familiar to the pressure of the world warping one’s mind and he has come to Kanye’s aid at the ranch in Wyoming this morning. 

Writing about Kanye has proven to be difficult, so I cannot imagine living through it day-to-day. Ye is battling a transition within his own right, of the old and new ways of thought. He has victimized his life, but also sits on the grounds of actually being vulnerable. Looking at the life that never had a private moment, the tweets are a sad truth that can be understood if we look at his world.
