Move Over Jay-Z and Beyonce, J.Lo and A-Rod are Taking Over #RelationshipGoals

For the past few years, it seems as though Jennifer Lopez was stuck under the same spell of not being able to keep a man despite her gorgeous looks and infectious personality. Other women in Hollywood face the same problem too: Jennifer Aniston, Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Amber Rose. However, she’s recently been a relationship with former baseball legend Alex Rodriguez since March 2017, and from the looks of it, it seems to be the most solid she’s ever had. Could they be on their a way to taking what was formerly Brangelina’s spot (Yikes divorce!) and sit next to Beyoncé and Jay-Z as #RelationshipGoals in Hollywood?

Let’s start with the basics. When it comes to iconic couples, most of the time it’s always important for both individuals to match up professional and financial wise. Alex Rodriguez was one of the most successful modern-day baseball players holding the record for the second-most seasons (8) with 40+ home runs in MLB with a reported net worth of $300 million. Jennifer Lopez is one of the few women in Hollywood who can do it all: acting, dancing, singing as well as adding television judging to her resume in recent years with an annual salary of $40 million. Both are in their forties, from New York and of Latin descent. While J.Lo has previously dated men of her caliber in the past such as Ben Affleck and Marc Anthony, the ride-or-die bond and easeful chemistry this current duo has, cannot be denied.

Lopez and Rodriguez both have children from their previous relationships (who are all around the same age) who get along seamlessly, and a source close the family told People magazine that the children even want the two to put on a ring on it. The couple holds no-bars when it comes to talking about the details of their relationship to the media. They are always gushing about one another and continually lifting each other up. In an interview with ¡HOLA! USA J.Lo said, “I’m in a good relationship. I feel like I can say that for the first time – I don’t know – maybe ever,” she said. “And not that I didn’t have great relationships, full of love and adventure, but this is the first relationship I’ve been where I feel like we really make each other better. We compliment each other, and there’s really pure true love. Just wanting to support the other person and make them happy. So, there’s a different selflessness in the love that’s beautiful and different. And healthy!”

Rodriguez also attends J.Lo’s events and vice versa. They have gone so much as spending holidays like Christmas and Easter together, moving in and skipping the Grammys for charitable commitments. Rumors are circulating that the couple could very well be on their way to getting married making it J.Lo’s fourth marriage and A-Rod’s second (hmmm).

Twenty-six year old Troy Blackwell Jr. is a longtime fan of J.Lo and is positive about the possible longevity for “Jenny From the Block” and her new beau. “I think her relationship with A-rod appears to be a good one. They both seem happy, and they've blended their families pretty well. Which is really important when you have children.,” says Blackwell.

“I think this relationship is different from her past ones because she's dating someone who isn't an entertainer. Diddy, Marc Anthony, and even Casper were all in the music industry. A-rod is a retired athlete and now a businessman. He's equally as famous as her, but there's enough separation in their careers that both can shine in their own light. They are like the Latino version of Ciara & Russell Wilson.”

We cannot deny the hope we get from the bubblegum-flavored romance whether it’s through their Instagram pics or the matching looks on the red carpet.

So, we salute to the new power couple on the block!
