Healthy Eating Bootcamp: How To Kick Those Sugar Cravings To The Curb....For Good!

Kicking your sugar habit can seemingly be one of the toughest things in the world to do. If you have a massive sweet tooth then kicking this sugar addiction can feel even more like a struggle bus. Anywhere you go, there are temptations to grab sugary snacks when you feel your energy levels crashing. These sugary situations can happen when you are at the grocery store, in the grocery store checkout line, or while you are out to dinner, and the staff asks if you want chocolate cake for dessert (Yes, please!)

This is why we are here to help tell your sugar cravings to stay the F away! That you can live a healthier and happier lifestyle. Artificial sweeteners do nothing for your overall health. Eating sugar has been linked to heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure, and chronic inflammation. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

Oh - and buyer beware: even when you are ready to kick your sugar intake, you will want to become conscious of the names for sugar in disguise. These names include; anything ending in -ose (sucrose, glucose, dextrose, fructose, lactose), cane sugar, brown sugar, evaporated cane juice, invert sugar, rice syrup, turbinado and sucanat (to name a few). Oh, and forgo the sugar in your coffee with names like; Splenda, Stevia, Equal, Nutrasweet and Sweet ‘N’ Low. Yeah I know….sugar shady AF!

Now is the time to kick your sugar cravings to the curb. When you push away your sugar habits, you will notice better skin, belly fat reduction, more energy and gravitate towards healthy food that serves your body in a beneficial way. When you are having a sugar craving, it usually means are you hungry for something nutritious, or you are dehydrated. Try drinking some water and switch to these sugar craving eliminators when you’re having a craving! You will be glad you did!

Berries are a great way to kick your sugar cravings because they are filled with natural sugars… the kind that Mother Nature wants you to have! Just be sure to limit your intake to about a 1.5 to 2 cups per day based off of the United States of Agriculture daily intake suggestion. Berries are packed with antioxidants, help with memory and widen arteries (which helps blood flow). Berries are known to have a sweet taste, so this is a perfect sugar craving alternative.
