Where To Thrift In LA: High-End and Best Deals

A vintage $3000 Saint Laurent handbag for $1500? Say no more, thrifting is the next best thing. The resale market is taking over and thousands of consumers are willing to buy things used just so they can get it at a lesser price. California is known for its’ thrift stores--from San Francisco to Los Angeles. The state offers various stores to visit when you’re looking for something vintage or even something new. When shopping for luxury, you might want to go to stores like Wasteland or 2nd Street. For items of a lesser price but still trending with brand-names, Crossroads and Goodwill are the better options.

When we think of LA, we know one of the things it is known for is its shopping. Whether it is luxury or vintage, it should come as no surprise that the thrift scene is equally on par. Scoring a vintage Harley Davidson t-shirt at a Wasteland is definitely way better than actually purchasing one from their website. Wasteland is a bit of a different sort of breed. Curated with the past-season of Chloe and the most recent pairs of ACNE jeans, Wasteland provides quality and trendy pieces at a discounted price. From Chanel purses to Saint Laurent, Wasteland is known for their luxury items. Get ready to do some damage with your wallet at this one!

2nd Street

Want something nice from the men’s section? 2nd Street is known for their eclectic menswear. From a vintage band t-shirt to an immaculate Supreme hoodie, this thrift store carries many exclusive pieces. Also, not to mention, their accessories such as sunglasses and wallets. From Ferragamo to Givenchy, 2nd Street does an impeccable job with authenticating their luxury items as well. Their price point is also not as extreme. If you find the right pieces, it’s definitely worth it to splurge a bit here!

Crossroads Trading Company

Not only is this store one of the more affordable thrift shops, but also the best when it comes to trading. They take just about any brand, as long as it lives up to the current trends and the store’s aesthetic. Crossroads has one of the more reasonable price points when marking their pieces. Depending on the location you are at, you can score some amazing 501 Levi’s or even some Frame denim for under $30! They even sell workout clothes from brands like Nike and Adidas. Here and there, you might be able to find a designer piece marked at a price of $75 or under, which is amazing!

Goodwill

The days of donations being junk are over. One person’s “junk” is another person’s treasure. Whether it is a vintage locket or a good quality wool coat, Goodwill offers the best prices and you can never go wrong with their price points. From fast-fashion pieces from Zara and Gap to brands you have never seen before, this thrift shop is the epitome of thrifting. Find the best pieces here but just know, patience is key. It’s so worth it at the end when you find 20 pieces for under $50!

We get it, you love the mall and you love shopping the latest trends. But you don’t necessarily have to always buy the new stuff that hits the racks every month. The fact is, fashion always repeats itself, so why not recreate fresh looks with unique, vintage pieces without breaking the bank.
