Use A Bar of Soap For Perfect Full Brows, Here's How...

By Kathryn Sohm

Our eyebrows have been through a lot. Plucking, waxing, threading, etc. Beauty trends have always dictated how thin or bushy our brows should be, and I have to say I think it’s time we leave them alone. Since we’ve recovered from the “Instagram brow” trend that was raging a few years ago, I think we’re in a sort of anti-trend stage for eyebrows. The motto is “anything goes,” as we see people rocking bleached brows, pencil thin brows, unibrows, you name it.

I have to say I’m loving this approach. I think eyebrows say so much about a person, so why not do whatever the hell you want to with them?

Au Naturale

As someone who’s unashamedly obsessed with her eyebrows, I’ve really leaned into the natural brows approach. I’ve fully abandoned the tweezers (not that I had much to pluck to begin with) and really embraced my natural shape. Since my eyebrow hairs can be a bit wirey and unruly, I typically rely on a nice gel to hold them in place. However, in place of my usual Boy Brow, I’ve switched over to soap brows, a genius hack that will keep your sisters-not-twins in place all day.

To achieve the natural soap brow look, here’s what you do…

First, brush your eyebrows into the desired shape. I typically brush up and then outwards. If wanted, fill in any areas of your brows with a pencil. Stay inside your brow shape to enhance your eyebrows or create small strokes above your brow line to get a bushier look. Next, grab your chosen soap product and slightly wet it with water or facial mist. With a spoolie, lightly scrape the soap so that the brush is coated with the soap. (Trust me, don’t scrape too hard or you’ll end up with way too much product to use at once!) Brush into your brows, making upward and outward motions. If needed, repeat the process again to set your eyebrows perfectly in place. Pro tip: once you’re done, wipe any remaining soap off of the spoolie so that it doesn’t harden and ruin the brush!

For the perfect soap brow products, you can use any clear bar of soap you find at the drugstore or the following products from beauty brands:
