Raisa Vanessa Fall Winter 2021: Uniting Past With Future Stuns The Fashion World

By Noyonika Sircar

The retro 80s vibe, with a futuristic spin has taken over the digital runway of Turkish duo, Raisa and Vanessa, at NYFW. Designers Raisa and Vanessa, showcased their collection in the Presidential Symphony Orchestra Building, renowned to be associated with the deep history of art . The collection was a gateway to the future. The models walked down from the escalator, strutted on steel gray pathways evoking the aura of the 80s in the 21st century.

Themed as “reconstruction of the shift of paradigm”, this collection had hues of blue, red, brown shimmer and sultry black and gold. The setup was breathtaking. The music was an 80s poptrack, with the high quality sartorial design, shoulder pads, plaids and textures of tomorrow cross pollinating with the aura of the 80s.

This collection stood out for its unmatched vibe in the digital landscape. Our favorite were the evening gowns, with sparkling sequin embellishments, the coordinates with sequin plaids, the midnight blue for the cuts, and rigid geometric details for the blazers, all were noteworthy. With the theme as dilemma of time; the collision of the beginning with the end, this collection orchestrated a string of possibilities wiith its representation of our present.

The mix of vintage with future is a favorite archetype of many frontline designers in the industry. RAISAVANESSA’s collection pushed the frontiers, shaped the digital space, remarking on silhouettes, and reconstructing a new era of yesterday with tomorrow.
