Orangetheory Launches New Tech with Apple Watch, and People Have Never Been More Excited...
Get pumped for New Year’s, babes! Because if you’re planning on getting fit, Orangetheory just made it more exciting.
Orangetheory, the popular HIIT and strength training fitness franchise, are releasing something that’s about to change the workout game. On Dec. 12, Orangetheory launched a new partnership with Apple. This makes it the first fitness brand to officially partner with Apple to develop technology for fitness studios and classes.
Together, the two developed a device called the OTbeat Link. This device allows members to use their Apple watches to track their stats and sync the data to Orangetheory’s live leaderboard during classes. Before, you had to buy one of Orangetheory’s own heart rate monitoring device to get your workout stats. But now with the OTbeat Link, which costs $129, you can just use your Apple watch!
But that’s not all. Orangetheory is streamlining everything, right down to tech their sales associates and trainers will use. Employees and coaches will be getting dedicated apps (OTassist and OTcoach) that will make managing class schedules and controlling classes a breeze.
Apple Watch support for Orangetheory will roll out to their studios during the first quarter of 2020. But for those lucky enough to be in New York City, the OTbeat Link will be available on Dec. 23.
