Meghan Markle: From Megxit To Role Model For Women

“The future is woman” defines the current climate energized by feminine energy. As we break through social barriers and glass ceilings, one unexpected power move caused an earthquake in royal tradition. The announcement of Princess Megan Markle and Prince Harry taking a step back from their regal titles came as a total shock. Criticism led by the media blames Megan for causing the break in the royal family front, but there are deeper social  issues that need to be addressed. Megan and Harry show unity in their decision. The Duchess of Sussex represents the change in the feminine voice, to do what is best for the health of her family.

The term ‘Megxit ’ has a painful back story; it was originally used by internet trolls that wanted to see Megan out of the British regime a couple years ago. Now, it has been redefined to capture the announcement of Prince Harry and Megan scaling back royal duties. From the New York Post to London’s Sun, all headlines read in all caps the Megxit cover. It seems that Megan’s name is the only one attached to this decision. This type  of microscope reporting is one of the factors towards the scale back from the royal Sussex household. As of March 31. Prince Harry and her royal higness Megan Markle will be free of regal obligation.

As a royal, Megan was prepared for media scrutiny, but she was almost in tears speaking about the unhappiness she felt living under royal regard. Back in October she confessed in a documentary interview, “I never thought that this would be easy, but I thought it would be fair.” Prince Harry also shared he was not in a stable condition; with the press raising his issues that are chained to the death of his mother, Princess Diana. The couple knew that they needed change.

Having been seen post-announcement; Megan had a lighter air around her. One could see the release in pressure as she strolled through the park in Canada with her eight month old son, Archie and her two dogs. The happiness beaming from her, shows confidence in the decision. This is not her giving up, or not caring about the royal heritage. Megan was honest about how her role affected her mental state, and she did what was best for her and her family. Many forget that the royal family are not just symbols of parliament, but actual human beings with feelings and limitations.

It takes a strong woman to stand against an archaic tradition that is so deeply rooted in Great Britain. The term “Megxit” is proof that the media is zooming into a biased opinion about the royal duchess. Megan is looking to regain her individuality and continue doing what is right for the health of her family. The couple continues to look into charitable acts, and they are figuring out their finances outside of the royal budget. They wish to bring restoration to their household, even if that means parting ways with any control of the royal name.
