Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Part Ways From The Crown, And Say Hello To Suburban Canadian Life
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have announced today that they will be stepping down from Senior members of the British Royal Family. This means that they are pulling away significantly on royal duties.
In a statement posted to their verified Instagram account, they said their “decision came after many months of reflection and internal discussion.” They continued to share, “we have chosen to make a transition this year in starting to carve out a progressive new role within this institution.”
They intend to become financially independent, while continuing still continuing to full support Her Majesty, The Queen.
They now plan to balance their time between the United Kingdom and North America, continuing to honour their duty to The Queen, the Commonwealth, and our patronages.
So, does that mean that they will also be giving up on their titles? The answer to that, is no. Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, were named the Duke and Duchess of Sussex by the Queen on their wedding day. The couple signed their correspondence as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, so it is not likely that they are getting rid of their titles.
