Lady Gaga Fights for Compassion in New Single ‘Stupid Love’... Hit or Miss?

Lady Gaga sinks her claws into the heart of war; she’s fighting in the name of love.  In the new single “ Stupid Love”, Lady G prepares her tribe for combat with compassion. But the real question is, are we in love with her latest sound? Before I say yay or nay, let me give the scoop on what’s been circulating about the rah-rah queen of pop. 

This new beat will be her first single since her acting switch was flipped on, and she let us have it in “A Star Is Born.” Not only did she nail it in the movie, she ally ooped another win with curating  the mega hit song, “shallow.” ( It’s a good shower anthem.) This single is highlighted from her yet to be dated, upcoming 6th album. ( It’s about damn time.) We will still see her on the big screen as well. She has a role in the upcoming film about icon fashion house Guccio Gucci. But back to the love train, let’s talk about the music video. Obviously all the wardrobe is on point. The scene is almost post apocalyptic meets Trollz doll colors. The song opens up with a classical dramatic tone. Silently, you see tribes unified by colors fighting amongst each other, but it quickly turns into house music vibes and leading the pink tribe of love, is Lady Gaga with the battle cry in the song “ All I ever wanted is love.”

So, yes to wardrobe, yes to the message/concept of the song, but no to melody. However, do I see this being popular in clubs? Yes. Is this going to make the International charts? Without a doubt. But ,for me it just didn’t do it. I would hit skip every time. I expect great things from this multifaceted queen. I get the feeling this is just the beginning, dare I say… a lady Gaga musical?! * Puts it out into the Universe*
