Issa Rae's Partnership With Google Assistant Makes 'Mirror Talks' A Reality
Issa Rae has all the answers to your questions – well, sort of ! The Insecure creator has joined the relatively small club of celebrities who have used their voice on Google Assistant. For a limited time, Rae’s voice is now available to make an audio appearance through the Google Assistant app on iOS and Android, as well as on Google Home speakers and other smart devices.
If you want to switch your current Google Assistant voice to Issa’s, you can do so by asking, “Hey Google, talk like Issa,” or switching the settings within the app but asking is more fun. There are specific questions that will trigger a cute response from Rae.
Here are some examples of questions straight from google:
“Do I need an umbrella today?”
“Tell me a secret.”
“What do you think of me?”
“How do I look?” ( for the affirmations every babe needs to feel her best).

In addition, there are other special responses Issa recorded, and Google says you can ask this to test it: “Hey Google, do you love Daniel or Lawrence more?”
The cool thing about the celebrity voices used is that the AI does the work. Instead of going through the effort of recording responses to all sorts of questions , then having to sort them out to find the match for your specific question it applies voice models in a natural way to give responses that sound like you are speaking to her in real time. Having Issa’s voice as an option is great, and I can’t wait to see what else is in store for Google Assistant!
