Everything We’re Using for Sun Kissed Skin

We love makeup around here, if you haven’t already noticed. And that means we let the whole body get some love, not just our face. I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s a trend, but it has been on the rise these past few months. Especially with a certain someone *cough, cough Kim K* launching a full line of body foundations. So here is the low down on what you need to get the perfect glow all over.

Self-Tanners

Hi, my name is Niara, I’m black, and I also love self-tanners. There is literally no reason for me to use a self-tanner, but I do. And yes, I can tell a difference before you even think it. My skin, just like anyone paler than me, can get dull and I want an extra glow too. Especially in the summer come rooftop season. I want to be a gilded bronze goddess. My favorite self-tanner is by St. Tropez. It dries super quick. It’s not orangey at all. And it gives my skin a deep golden hue which I love.

Body Makeup

So, now that you’re tan, you might still have some imperfections you want to correct. A light, non-transferable body foundation would be the way to go. You want something sheer enough that doesn’t feel thick on your legs but still enough coverage to smooth out everything. I’ve been eyeing the new body foundation that Kim Kardashian dropped earlier this month. Based off the reviews, it might be a product we hate to love.

Body Shimmer

Now onto my favorite part, the body shimmer. I’ve always used a bit of a shimmer on my collar bones in the summer, trust me it looks amazing in photos. More recently, I’ve been using it on my legs to have them glistening in the sun. I would stay away from the glitters unless you want something that will end up all over the place. A shimmer has a much smaller glitter particle and will stay put. My favorite right now is from Patrick Ta and it looks and smells divine.
