Be Bold, be Bright, be Beautiful: Siriano and his Technicolor Dreamcoat

Project Runway’s fourth season winner Christian Siriano created another masterpiece of a collection at NYFW this year. Inspired by the brilliant artwork of painter and gallery owner, Ashley Longshore, this collection takes us deep into sea-foam green waters while also delving into the Bible’s book of genesis (who knew we could combine these two so effortlessly). Let’s peek at some of Siriano’s mesmerizing designs as we prepare for a new season of metallics and the brightest of colors imaginable.

I think it is safe to say that this look can be easily spotted from a few miles away. If any look can scream NYC, this would be the one. I mean, I don’t know about you, but even the largest and most vibrant billboards in the city of New York could not possibly take my eyes off of this beauty.  I also love the look of a rainbow eye that matches a rainbow ensemble- quite impressive.

This Seafoam Green is Everything!

We are living for these metallic sea-foam green designs. This pantsuit, or should I say capri-suit, truly takes us back to the 80s. Siriano’s look combines a taste of business-chic as well as a hint of metallic magic. We are sensing a rise in lighter, cooler tones this upcoming spring/summer season and I am all for it!

A Gatsby party is in your near future

The 1920s flapper dress is back, but this time it is a little bit more stylish. Strutting down the runway in this crowd worthy piece is every woman’s dream. As we see from Christian’s newest collection, it is that time of the year to find the nearest Gatsby themed party and look for the green light at the end of the dock (it’s cheesy, but true). I love this look because although it is a bit more solemn than his other pieces, there is a sense of drama and authority in its nature.

If you are looking for something saucier for your next event, this strapless number may do the trick. I love the fringe detailing that covers the bottom half of this dress.

Here we have one of my favorite looks from this collection. Iridescent clothing has been a fan favorite for festivals, raves, and practically any club attire, and now we are seeing it on the runway as well. I said it before, and I will say it again, the eye makeup for this show was perfect for each of these looks. You can never go wrong with mixing an array of colors to give off the ultimate runway outfit.
