I know this isn’t what you want to hear, but makeup brushes are a breeding ground for bacteria if you don’t keep them in check. Most makeup experts suggest washing your brushes once a week to keep this issue at bay. To do this, get an antibacterial soap. Gently lather under lukewarm water. Then, use a mild shampoo to loosen up any lingering makeup on the bristles. Rinse with lukewarm water. Then set out to dry. Super simple. If you prefer to use a formula specifically for makeup brush cleaning, then check out Sephora Collection ‘The Cleanse: Daily Brush Cleaner.’

This quick-drying spray does not require water and has the same effect. Keep your skin clear of bacteria so that you don’t have breakouts and can glow on!

Change Your Sleeping Habits

Sleep is so important to skin health. When you have enough sleep your skin looks awake and happy. Your dark circles are not prominent and you just feel better. 8 hours of sleep is the aim. If you are dipping into the 6  hour range, try to reschedule your life so that adequate sleep is a non-negotiable. Speaking of sleeping, another small change that could make a big impact is changing your pillowcases from cotton to silk. Sleeping on a silk pillowcase keeps your skin’s natural moisture intact. A silk pillowcase can also reduce wrinkles and keep your skin smooth. For such a small cost, why not make the switch?

Pseudo - Sun

Instead of checking yourself into a tanning bed, which can be detrimental your skin, you should pick up a bottle of self tanner. This is especially helpful during the winter months. Try Josie Maran ‘Argan Liquid Gold Self-Tanning Oil.’ This is a super-hydrating tanning oil that will nourish your skin while creating a natural glow that will have you feeling like you just came back from an beach paradise.

Be sure you are checking your expiration dates on your makeup. This is important to make sure to do at least once a month. This will ensure there is no fungal or bacterial growth on your makeup products that could cause a breakout. Nobody has got time for a breakout when they are on the road to dewy, glowy skin! Some timelines to go by are; mascara (3-6 months), lipgloss and pencils (2-3 years), powder based products (2-3 years), cleansers (1 year) and toners (6 months to a 1 year).
