10 Face Masks that Will Have You Glowing Like the Goddess You Are

10 Face Masks that Will Have You Glowing Like the Goddess You Are

The long, busy week is over and now it’s time to treat yo’self. You may not have the time to head to the spa, and let’s face it, most of us can’t afford to splurge on expensive treatments on a weekly basis. But that does not mean you can afford to miss out on all the goodness of a little bit of self-care and indulgence either. Face masks are a simple way to unwind, get pampered and give your skin a little boost.

Whether you need some extra hydration, a deep cleanse or some anti-aging action, these ten masks will have your skin looking radiant in just a few minutes. So stay in, light a candle or two, put on something comfy and maybe play a little music to create the ideal spa atmosphere while you give your skin some TLC and go from stressed to feeling blessed.

Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay

Clay masks are a skincare classic, but this bentonite clay powder really packs a punch. The ionized clay works like a magnet pulling toxins from your pores, getting rid of impurities and leaving your skin soft and refreshed. It can work as a base to make a variety of clay masks at home, but the simplest way to use it is to mix it with water or apple cider vinegar (for an even more powerful cleanse) to create a paste you can apply on your face and leave for 10 to 20 minutes, until it starts to dry up. Use it once or twice a week for the best results.

Just to Clarify Jelly Mask

This jelly mask isn’t just fun to play around with, but it’s also ultra-hydrating. It’s made with seaweed extract, which is what gives it it’s jelly-ness, but also works to trap moisture into your skin, giving you a youthful glow. Plus, the orange and papaya are full of enzymes that cleanse and brighten your skin. To use, take a pinch and work with your fingers until it becomes a creamy paste. Apply to your skin and leave on for about 15 minutes. This mask is also vegan, so it’s perfect if you like to keep it plant-based.

Catastrophe Cosmetic Fresh Face Mask

Fresh ingredients are the best way to get the most nutrients into your skin, but if you don’t have the time to make your own masks at home, or if you just can’t deal with the mess, Lush’s fresh masks are a great way to go. This one is full of antioxidant and vitamin-rich blueberries, a great anti-aging secret weapon. It’s gentle and soothing and helps reduce redness and minimize pores, not to mention, it smells delicious. Apply directly on your face and leave for about 15 minutes for an incredibly indulgent experience.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery Eye Mask

Sometimes being tired can’t be helped. I mean, after running around all day, of course you’re exhausted! And when you’re stressed, it takes a toll on your skin too, but there is something you can do to fix that. This mask focuses all its invigorating and rejuvenating power on the area under your eyes. Its cooling effect will have your eyes looking well-rested again and any fine lines in the area will be plumped out as your skin gets moisturized. Just like that, you’re feeling radiant again.

Garnier Moisture Bomb Chamomile Hydrating Face Sheet Mask

Super hydrating and with the calming properties of chamomile to soothe your skin, this sheet mask is a great option if you have dry and/or sensitive skin. Sometimes it’s better to keep things simple, and this is especially true if your skin reacts easily to the substances it may be in contact with daily, like pollution in the air or your make up. Take a few minutes to let it breathe while it soaks in some extra moisture.

Yes to Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Peel-Off Mask

Perfect for combination, oily or acne prone skin this detoxifying mask eliminates dead skin cells and excess oil so your newly cleansed skin can recover its natural glow. The charcoal gets rid of impurities while lycopene-rich tomatoes cleanse the skin and tighten your pores. This face mask is also certified cruelty free, so your conscience can be as clear as your skin.

Green Tea Bags for Dark Circles

If you need to pamper on a budget or if you’re looking for a natural way to get rid of the circles under your eyes, you’ll find the solution as close by as your kitchen cupboard. Grab two green tea bags, dip them in water and refrigerate them for a while, once they’re cool place them over your eyes for around 15 minutes. Green tea has tannins that help contract blood vessels under your eyes and reduce the appearance of dark circles, while the cold will help with inflammation.

Anti-Aging Rosehip Oil and Bentonite Clay Face Mask

An anti-aging variant on the basic bentonite clay mask (you can use the aforementioned Aztec Healing Clay for this). Mix two teaspoons of clay with a few drops of rosehip oil and a few teaspoons of water until you make a paste, apply on your face and neck and let dry for 10 to 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water an gently pat dry. While the clay cleanses your skin, rosehip oil moisturizes, repairs damaged tissues and rejuvenates skin. It can help reduce the appearance of scars as well as fine lines and wrinkles.

Honey Scrub for Blackheads

Mix two tablespoons of honey and one tablespoon of baking soda. Massage onto your skin for 2 to 5 minutes, paying especial attention to the targeted areas. Leave on for 10 to 15 minutes more and rinse with warm water. Honey is antiseptic and antibacterial, helping you cleanse your skin while keeping it nourished and moisturized. Baking soda helps maintain your skin’s natural pH, killing bacteria that clog your pores and preventing acne and pimples. This wonderful DIY scrub also removes dead skin cells and lightens dark spots.

DIY Mud Mask for Acne Prone and Oily Skin

This super indulgent mud mask combines different ingredients to cleanse and hydrate your skin at the same time. Mix two or three tablespoons of Greek yogurt, one teaspoon of cocoa powder, one teaspoon of buttermilk, half a mashed banana, one teaspoon of honey and one teaspoon of lemon juice to make a paste. Apply to your skin and leave for 20 minutes. The Greek yogurt, and the honey cleanse your skin, the banana and the buttermilk exfoliate and moisturize while the lemon juice helps clear acne scars and dark spots. The cocoa gives everything an indulgent touch, so your “me time” feels all the more decadent.
