The Y2K Inspired Hairstyles of Coachella Set The Stage For Summer Hair
Coachella is finally back in full force in 2022, alongside the incredible music sets we saw some gorgeous looks this year. Boho-chic was all the rage in Coachella’s peak in the 2010s, and it hasn’t slowed down this year. With braids, space buns, and Y2K inspo galore, these old trends are back with a new look. We’ve swapped out the flower crowns and cowboy hats for framing braids and more subtle makeup looks.
Alongside Coachella, Revolve Festival also gave us some great inspo. The revolve influencers really went all out, with florescent looks and some great hairstyles that we just had to include. We know technically the two festivals aren’t the same, but so many great looks happened it would be a crime not to include some of them here.
Here is some great inspiration for your own festival looks, get ready for some great summer looks:
Multiple braids - Hailey Bieber
Coachella had many gorgeous braid looks. Hailey Bieber rocked the braids this weekend, with twin, loose braids on each side of her hair to create a perfect lowkey hairstyle to dance the night away. Completed with frosted, blue under eyeliner and pink blush.
Bubble braids
Bubble braids made a gorgeous impact this year. There are so many ways to wear these fun braids, with one large braid, two face framing braids like Carmen Solomon or large pigtail braids, regardless of your choice this looks screams fun and flirty.
Face framing braids
Obvi, how could we go through all these stunning braids without mentioning our fave face-framing braids that have been worn to death by celebrities this year. Leonie Hann completed her glittering Coachella look this year with the two baby face framing braids, which we absolutely loved.
Braids into braids
Storm Reid took the braids look to a new level this Coachella. With her stunning two piece, she completed the look with one large braid swept gently over her face, made out of her own, smaller, braids! Can we just say how in love we are with this creative look? Reid is definitely one to watch for fashion and hair inspo.
Bejewelled hair
For a Coachella throwback, stick on hair jewels are back. We loved to add glam to any look, so welcome any chance to bejewel our hair. Vanessa Morgan is no different, rocking a stunning side parting with subtle, classy jewels stuck into her hair for her Day two look. Taking more inspo from Vanessa, match your makeup to your jewels to take your look up a notch.
Low space buns
2016 space buns are back, and we’re not mad about it. Celebs like Paris Hilton went full Coachella It girl, complete with jewels and flowing skirts. Normani opted for stylish, low space buns finished with spiky hair to create a cool street ready outfit.
