Suit Shorts Are Officially A Thing - Here Are Our Favorites...
Summer is here and it’s time to lighten up your wardrobe. If you think that means you have to give up the suiting trend until fall think again. Suit shorts are not just for the toddlers anymore. I must say I was a bit unsure about the trend when I first saw it rearing it’s head earlier this year and on the SS 19 runways. To make them breathable you will want to reach for fabrics that are lighter in color and fabric weight. Think pastels, light neutrals, and primary colors. Linens and cottons are two fabrics that work super well in the heat too. As for the cut of the suit that is completely up to you. Double-breasted blazers are popular now but do not be afraid to play around with what accentuates your shape the best.
If you are on a budget, think about tailoring a suit that you already own. A quick cut and hem should be no more than $50 tops. I know I personally have a few suits that I wear the blazer all the time and the pants not so much. And if you don’t have any already, check out your local thrift store. I have personally found many of designer blazers and suits at Salvation Army for a steal. A trip to the tailor and drycleaners and you have a new summer fit less than $100.
Here are some of our favorites right now…
