RushTok Is Back: What Girls Are Actually Wearing for Sorority Rush in 2026

Every August, we are reintroduced to the colorful, bright, and preppy world of RushTok. The GRWMs, dorm prep, rush vlogs, and more have us all on the edge of our seats every fall. The best part of these videos is always the outfits. These aspiring sorority girls plan their outfits months in advance and are especially fans of brands like LoveShackFancy and For Love & Lemons. Each round of sorority rush has its own dress code and vibe: Open House is casual and cute, Philanthropy is polished and approachable, Sisterhood is elevated and fashion-forward, and Preference is formal and sophisticated. So…what are the sorority girlies actually wearing this rush season? We’ve scoured the internet, especially TikTok’s RushTok videos, to find the latest fashion trends for this rush season.
Open House
Open House is the introductory round where potential new members, or PNMs, meet lots of sorority members. This is usually the most casual round, so you can expect to see a lot of sundresses, cute athletic dresses, casual rompers, and matching sets. For footwear, girls this season are opting for comfortable sandals or fancy sneakers. Jewelry is always a fun and casual aspect of every Open House outfit, and we have been seeing girls stick to classic gold stacking bracelets and simple necklaces.

Philanthropy
The next round is Philanthropy, where PNMs learn about each chapter’s charitable work and the conversations become a little more personal. This is where you’d opt for a more elevated and sophisticated outfit. We have been seeing most girls on RushTok pair their sorority or college T-shirt with a cute miniskirt and opt for slightly more intentional accessories (clutches, statement necklaces, etc.). So…what colors are we seeing? We have been noticing the popularity of shades of pink! Bright and light pink colors seem to be especially popular this year in dresses and accessories. Looking at footwear, the coastal/preppy aesthetic never seems to die at major schools like Bama, and ballet flats are more popular now than they were in 2012. We are also seeing popularity in simple kitten heels as well.

Sisterhood
Now we move into Sisterhood, which is a more intimate round focused on the sorority’s members, friendships, and culture. PNMs typically visit fewer houses as the options narrow down. I would say this is the most important visit for fashion. This is where you want to show off your personal style with your outfit and energy. Trade in the ballet flats and sneakers for nice heels or wedges, and trade in the sundress for a more structured dress. This is the round where I’d spend a little more time on hair and makeup and opt for a more neutral and sophisticated color rather than a bright color.

Preference
And finally, we have Preference, aka The Big Finale. This is the most formal round, where PNMs have more emotional and personal conversations. It is the final round before bids are offered, which means all eyes are on you and your outfit. Girls are opting for fancy cocktail dresses or dressier midi or maxi dresses paired with heels and more sophisticated jewelry. We have noticed that Gen Z tends to associate “formal” dressing with neutral and pastel colors and structured high-neck silhouettes. Preference is where the outfit becomes less about a “cute rush outfit” and more about formal event dressing.

Can You Repeat Rush Outfits?
Is it a faux pas to rewear pieces rather than buying a completely new wardrobe for each round? In her TikTok series Daily Rush Tips, Mariah Kaye reassures incoming recruits, “Do not stress about repeating outfit,” and goes on to say, “nobody sees you going into every single house, so they are literally going to have no idea.” And just a disclaimer: there is no “Universal Rush Dress Code.” Some schools provide extremely specific dress codes, so always check and follow your school’s official recruitment guidelines. With this in mind, we recommend buying pieces that can be mixed and matched to fit different rounds, like a simple skirt, dress, or fancy blouse.
