Do It For the 'Gram: Most "Instagrammable" Spots in DC
Our nation’s capital is home of the monuments and memorials. The White House, The National Monument, and a host of memorials have all been flicked up endlessly. The amount of Instagram feeds that boast pictures of the Lincoln Memorial or the National Mall are endless. But that’s not all the district has to offer! Have no fear, I have some of the most known and unknown instagrammable places in D.C.
Unknown
U.S. Botanic Garden
The U.S. Botanic Garden is my favorite place in Washington, D.C. If you love nature, then this is the place for you. The foliage is so green and lush, not only will you get some amazing photos in, you’ll also feel so centered and blissful when you leave you’ll make it a weekly thing.
Little Leaf
I bought two of my plant babies from here and they are still flourishing to this day! If you want to get some Garden Girl aesthetics this where it’s at. Little Leaf is home of the succulents and it also has some cute stationery products. It’s a cute little jungle of a story to add some greenery to your IG feed.
Cuba Libre
Cuba Libre is another one of my favorite places! This Cuban spot is actually a restaurant, but at night it turns into a club. The decor, however, is what is completely instagrammable. One step in here and you’re transported into little Havana. Come here for dinner, a dance, and a cute photo op.
Artechouse
Artechouse is an immersive and interactive art experience in D.C. The entire expensive is unique and entertaining. It is that very uniqueness, however, that makes Artechouse an ideal place for updating your feed. People definitely will be asking you where you were and how they can get there.
La Vie
Jaleo is another beautiful restaurant that will have your followers wondering where the hell you are. They also have a “Sangria hour” with yummy food at affordable prices. The brightly colored restaurant will be sure to add some color to your timeline.
Known
Hirshhorn Museum
The Hirshorn is one of D.C.’s most well-known museums, and for good reason. They always have an evocative and interesting exhibit showing. Currently Rafael Lozano-Hemmer’s Pulse exhibit is showing. This thought-provoking exhibit uses your own bodily information--your fingerprints, heartbeat, etc--to provide the art.
The Wharf
I mention The Wharf quite a bit because it’s one of my favorite places in D.C. I mean come on, who doesn’t like a waterfront photo op! Whether you’re going to one of the restaurants or hitting up an event being hosted there, just remember to get flicked up!
Renwick Gallery
The Renwick Gallery is also a well-known museum in D.C. It’s home to the famous “Rainbow string” pictures you may have seen floating around on social media. Although this gallery is a bit small, there’s always a fun exhibit to see.
Kingbird—Watergate hotel
Bresca is a French-inspired restaurant with a twist. It also has a Michelin star, people. A Michelin Star. All my foodies know how big of a deal that is. What’s great about this place is how creative it is. Everything served is practically begging to be photographed! Just look at the Bee’s Knees drink they serve!
National Arboretum
The National Arboretum is great for hiking and all my outdoorsy folks. It also hosts the notable National Capitol Columns. Although people do indeed know about this spot, it’s not overdone, so trust me you’ll still be sure to wow your followers.
