It's A Summer of Coordinates, And This Is How You Nail The Look

By Gabriella Sims

No, you aren’t seeing double, 2-piece sets (“co-ords”) really are taking over fashion. This summer, everyone is trading in their jumpsuits for matching separates, and it's not too late to find your perfect match. Let’s face it, jumpsuits can be tricky - we run into unflattering torso lengths and have to awkwardly take them off from the top to use the bathroom. With co-ords, you can look effortlessly put together while avoiding these complications. While wearing the same material from top to bottom creates an elegant lengthened silhouette, separates also provide an opportunity to mix and match with other pieces in your wardrobe. Having an easy statement outfit alone is a worthy investment, but a top and bottom that can be styled with a variety of other pieces makes them a must-have.

Co-ords have been making their way to the front of fashion for the past few years. If Gigi Hadid wearing a coordinated set to her birthday celebrations the past two years wasn’t enough to convince you, co-ords have played a significant role in recent designer collections. Moschino’s retro-inspired Resort 2023 collection features disco-ready co-ords in bold patterns and colors, as well as crochet and denim co-ords. Jacquemus Fall 2022 collection gives us a futuristic spin on co-ords, showcasing relaxed styles in neutral earth tones.

It’s no wonder that both this season’s Bachelorettes, Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey, wore co-ords to “The Bachelorette'' Season 19 Premier. No matter what the season has in store, the bachelorettes have already found their perfect pairs.
