What You Need To Buy For Your Fall Wardrobe, Starting Late Summer...

I know we still have a decent amount of summer weather headed our way but if you stay ready, you never have to get ready right? That’s just an excuse I make because I’ve secretly been waiting for fall since summer hit. Anyways, sweater weather will be here before you know it. I’m not stocking up on coats and cashmere just yet. But every year around this time there are a few things that I keep my eye out for, and purchase to get in the fall groove.

Fall Jackets

My favorite kind of weather is when you don’t quite need a coat, but it’s still too cool to not wear anything. And I like to have options here: something I can wear to work, the gym, and casually. If you don’t have one, definitely invest in a leather jacket. I bought mine 5 years ago and at the time $800 for a jacket seemed excessive. I promise I wear it every fall and it’s just getting better with time. A trench coat is another good option to have on hand.

Boots

The shoe options are really what get me excited for fall. And more than anything, a good bootie (and booty) always give me a little pep in my step. Again, I like to look for good quality here, so I can wear them for more than one season. You can spend a considerable amount less for anything trendy.

Sweaters & Knits

I mean they call it sweater weather for a reason. The literal best time of year to me is when I can finally put on a sweater. I find that typically when sweaters first hit the sales floor, brands tend to run a discount to get the merchandise moving. Then come late September/October, it’s full price. I look for knits made with quality materials, so I won’t experience much pilling.
