Four Year Old Texas Boy Was Told By School Officials To Cut His Hair, Or Dress As a Girl

A Black grandmother is fighting back when it comes to providing justice for her loved one.   When Randi Woodly dropped her young grandson off at his rural Texas school this August, they were both asked to report to the principal at Tatum Primary School, she told CNN. What the principal decided to do was give her two ultimatums :cut the boy’s hair or put him in a dress.

Woodley was further told  that the child’s hair was way too long and in violation of the district’s dress code. Her grandson’s hair is roughly shoulder length , and the rules say that the hair can’t go below a shirt collar.

She was told to either cut his hair or braid his hair and pin it up in a dress code-approved bun or cut it off.

The superintendent stressed the same point again when Woodly brought the issue to him.

“He told me that I could either cut it, braid it and pin it up, or put my grandson in a dress and send him to school, and when prompted, my grandson must say he’s a girl,” she told local news station KETK. It was explained that her grandson could wear a dress and say he was a girl to be protected under federal law. He has provided no comment about this policy to the media.

Fortunately, another parent has started a petition in the boy’s name that asks for the liberty to wear your hair however you like. It has garnered almost 6,000 signatures !!!
