Dirty Soda Is This Summer's "It Drink"

Utah natives have been loving this drink concoction for years and finally thanks to the power of the internet the “Dirty Soda” is trending all over America. A dirty soda is an iced drink that contains 3 components. First, any type of soda or base liquid. Second, cream or milk. And third, a flavored syrup. Here are 5 different dirty sodas that you can make at home to try out this viral foodie trend. Most of the recipes are very straightforward. You just combine all the ingredients in a glass and add ice if desired! For a fun twist you can also turn these into cocktails by adding a shot of your favorite liquor.

Strawberry Breeze Drink

The Strawberry Breeze Drink is sweet and refreshing and an at home version of the Starbucks Pink Drink. You simply mix together all the ingredients and add ice and enjoy!

Ingredients: 

Water

Ice

Strawberries

Strawberry puree

Torani sugar free vanilla

Torani sugar free coconut

Coffee-mate coconut creme

Peaches and Cream Soda

This Peaches and Cream Soda is the perfect poolside treat. It is sort of like a peach milkshake but with fizz from the cream soda. Add all ingredients except the ice cream to a glass and then add the ice cream last. 

Ingredients:

¼ cup Torani Peach Syrup 

1 tablespoon cream (or vanilla creamer)

2 scoops of vanilla ice cream

⅓ cup of cream soda

Blueberry Italian Cream Soda

The Blueberry Italian Cream Soda is light, sweet, and bubbly. Exactly the kind of refreshing drink you want to drink this summer. Boil and dissolve the sugar and water and then add the berries and lemon zest. Bring to a simmer and let sit for 5 minutes. Let cool and then strain the liquid and then add along with the club soda and half and half to a cup with ice. 

Ingredients:

1 cup of sugar 

1 cup of water

6 ounces blueberries

Zest of half of a lemon

8 ounces of half and half

24 ounces plain club soda

Whipped topping for garnish (optional)

Dirty Coke

A Dirty Coke is a fun spin on a regular coke and a popular dirty soda drink. All you do is add coconut syrup, lime juice, and whipped cream to some regular Coca-Cola. Simple but definitely delicious. 

Ingredients: 

Two Tablespoons coconut syrup 

12 oz Coca-Cola

Juice of half of a lime

Top with homemade whipped cream

Dirty Shirley Float

This drink is supposed to be a cocktail but it is still as tasty as a mocktail. A Dirty Shirley Float is a fun take on a classic Shirley Temple but with ice cream. Feel free to add any type of liquor but vodka is recommended. 

Ingredients:

Lemon lime soda

Grenadine

Vanilla ice cream

Maraschino cherries

Lime slices

Vodka (optional)
