5 Wardrobe Items It's Okay to Spend a Sh*t-load of Money On
We try to be reasonable with our spending. We want all of the cute clothes, but we understand we have to pay the bills, and we should also learn how to save a bit. Most of the time we only shop the sale racks, and we try to find things at thrift shops and resale boutiques. But sometimes we feel like we just want something crisp and new and not even marked down yet. That’s why I’ve made a list of a few things it’s totally cool to spend a bunch of money on! The rationalization: these pieces are foundational, they’ll be relevant forever, and they offer a ton of versatility. We’ll always want these things in our closet, so we might as well invest a little more for high-quality, perfect fit, and extended life span!
Pro tip: Be extremely selective when shopping for these items. The whole point is that we’re investing in true wardrobe staples with legit staying power - that’s the very reason it’s okay to spend more on these pieces. Keep it simple! This is not about what’s trendy; we’re going for timeless. We’re looking for longevity, ladies. Make sure each item checks all three boxes below:
It will never go out of style. It doesn’t have any of-the-moment details that you love right now but will probably hate by next season.
It fits you perfectly. If you’re someone who often needs a slight alteration, and you’re confident it will fit perfectly with the appropriate tailoring, go for it. (The key word is slight; if a jacket is going to require a complete deconstruction or addition of several inches of fabric just so you can button it up, it’s not your jacket!)
You feel amazing in it. You are fully embodied and ready to kick ass and conquer. You should feel it the instant you put it on. If more than a minute goes by, and you’re still wondering if you can make it work, #ThankYouNext!

A well-fitting pair of tailored black pants is everything. They’re sleek, flattering, and can serve as the outfit foundation for any occasion. Pair with a cute T-shirt and loafers for a slightly-elevated casual look. Tuck in a beautiful blouse and finish with a statement-making blazer for business meetings. The Perfect Pair of Jeans

I don’t need to sell you on jeans, right? You already know. My personal faves are skinnies and straight legs. These cuts are classic and look great on every gal, no matter your gorgeous shape or size. High waist cuts are also flattering across the board. (No muffin tops, I beg you.) A classic dark blue wash will be the most timeless.

A trench coat always communicates classy cosmopolitan. The longer coverage and water-resistance are def appreciated in the rain, but a cool girl trench coat works whatever the weather fall through spring. Stick with black or beige for the most definitive look.
